You might wonder if you can play bunco with more than 12 players. Did you know it is super easy to scale up and add more players? No one should limit the fun if your friends want to bring an extra person or two, let everyone join in the fun! If you end up with an odd number, be sure to check out this post on how to play with a ghost.

Bunco is completely scalable!
Do you have 16 people that want to play, it is no problem to add an extra table or two when you want to play Bunco. In fact, the hardest part of scaling up to allow more than 12 people to play bunco is simply getting enough tables and chairs to play.
How does table rotation change?
The table rotation does not change. Simply pick what direction you want the players to go in. When you add more people, simple is best, clockwise works very well. You may want to print some table cards so people understand which table is which.
Need more tables and chairs – just ask!
Many of the guests may have an extra card table or two. Ask the folks in your group if you can borrow one of their card table and chair sets. If playing in the home you can always turn a coffee table into an area of play without a problem.
If you are playing for money prizes get bigger!
So if you add more people to Bunco that means the prize money also grows. You can make the prizes larger in value, or you can add 2nd place prizes as well. Be sure to check out some of these prize charts should your numbers grow.
Rounds may take a little longer
With the more people you are playing with, it may take a little longer to change tables. Be sure to keep this in mind if you are playing on a weeknight. You may want to play just three rounds instead of four. You can grab some of my three-round score sheets if desired.
Try playing with more than 12 players
You really can add more tables if you desire. Many fundraisers use Bunco as an activity, and they can play up with 60 or 70 tables, so you know this game is scalable. You may not get the chance to chat with everyone when you play, but you can absolutely play with as many people as desired. It’s a great way to throw a large party, and meet lots of new friends.
